Strangeloop Studios is an audio-visual design studio working at the intersection of music and technology. Our primary focus is concert visuals, utilizing projection and LED walls with a focus on 3D animation.
When dealing with projection, treat buildings and stages as inspiration rather than passive surfaces. The practice is built for large-format work, in close coordination with creative collaborators, venue engineering, projector teams, and front-of-house audio.
Strangeloop designed and produced projection-mapped visuals for David Gilmour's Hollywood Bowl run, integrating original imagery with the venue's iconic concentric arched shell. The architecture became a collaborator: imagery cut to the music, calibrated to the venue's lighting, executed in close collaboration with Gilmour's creative direction and the Bowl's technical staff.
Direct precedent: a fixed iconic façade, a live musical performance as the score, calibrated multi-projector mapping, 3D animation.
